So what do we spend the money on?
Our fundraising this year has allowed us to invest in the following ways to enhance the education of all children at the school:
Pupil Laptops - £10,000 plus ongoing commitment over the next 3 years
- Augmentation and replacement of the current inventory - establishing 30 working laptops per year group plus additional pupil tablets.
PA System - £5,000
- Replacement of the current system to include wireless mics for productions, 4 x speakers, mounting system, new amplifier and mixer.
Forest School for Yr 1 - £2,750
- Every child in Yr 1 spending half a term at Forest School, an “innovative, child led approach to outdoor play and learning” where the children’s classroom is relocated to Orleans House Gallery Woods for half a day a week.
Teacher’s Discretionary Spending - £150/Class
- Each teacher is given £150 to spend on their class as they wish.
Anti-bullying and Mental Health Week - £1,500
- Funding performance workshops and other resources to augment the school’s special weeks.
Special Educational Needs (SEN) Sensory Room - £1,500
- A grant has been made for a lighting system, sensory shower, mounted interactive wall panel and soft furnishings for a small area in school that has been designated a SEN space.
Maths Mastery Resources - £1,000
- Additional resources required to enable the teaching of Maths Mastery at the same time across the school so that all years can benefit from the same day intervention programme in AM break.
Playground Zoning - £1,000
- Zoning the main playground and providing resources to operate different activities in each breakout area. Some will be adult-led run by the lunchtime staff, others would be equipment needed to play specific outdoor games or a quiet area with a book box.
School Orchestra - £200/term plus £100 one off grant
- Funding Music Teacher hours to run our flourishing school orchestra and new music stands.
Gardening - £500
- Repair of tarmac, compost, children’s gardening tools and simple irrigation system for the school allotment and planters.
Teacher Appreciation Fund - £500
- A grant to provide tea & coffee, refreshments and other thank you gestures for teachers working late or going above and beyond ordinary duties.
Outside Activity Station - £400
- An educational play and storage station for the Nursery garden.
App - £29/month
- Funding the content management system provider
In previous years, we have invested in outdoor scientific play area, climbing frames for the playground and dedicated sports coaches to work alongside the teachers to provide top rate sports coaching and upskilling teachers on the best coaching techniques
